September is Hawaiian History Month, a very special time for all of us at da Shop to share in the recognition of Hawaiʻi's history, culture, and heritage. Commencing with the late Queen Liliʻuokalani’s 185th birthday on September 2, Hawaiian History Month is spearheaded by the Hawaiʻi Ponoʻī Coalition and honors the memory of Hawaiʻi’s beloved queen. It also recognizes both the vibrancy of Hawaiʻi’s rich culture alongside the atrocities and wrongs committed against the Hawaiian people, holding space for celebration, mourning, and deep reflection.
