Submission Overview

1. Please read our submission guidelines.

We know our customers, the bookstore business, and our own internal processes. You know your book and audience. These guidelines will help us know if your book is a fit and show us that you know our bookstore community too.

2. Please be kind to our booksellers.

We love books but we cannot stock every single book that is mailed to us, dropped on our doorstep under the cloak of night, brought in by carrier pigeons, and hand-delivered to our shop. We receive A LOT of books and we try to treat each of them (and the humans who write them) with care.

3. Please be kind to yourself.

Your book might not be a good fit at this time for many reasons but that doesn't mean it's not a good book. Writing a book, publishing a book, and selling a book are different processes and they don't always align. We get it. As an independent bookstore managed by an independent publisher, we understand the challenges. A 'no' from us is not simply an evaluation of quality, but rather of fit.
