Joakim Peter is from the Mortlock Islands of Chuuk State, in the Federated States of Micronesia. He is recognized as both educator and advocate for Micronesian diaspora communities in the Pacific region. This book is autobiographical which makes it a rarity among Micronesian storytellers.
