Lee Anne Wong, of Koko Head Café and author of Dumplings All Day Wong, will be leading this first Slow Food Oahu workshop at da Shop: books + curiosities centered around the delights of dumplings.
Join us for an afternoon of dumpling making where we will explore and try our hand at making dumplings with the three major methods: pan-fried, steamed, and boiled. We will pair these methods with various filling ranging from pork and seafood to vegetarian variations, and explore the differences in fresh, verses store bought dough. Participants will have the chance to enjoy the community that forms around filling and shaping dumplings as we learn different filling and folding techniques, and taste test our results at the end of the day together.
Participants will leave with a copy of Lee Anne Wong’s book, Dumplings All Day Wong, and the inspiration to continue exploring at home in dumpling parties of their own.
