About Kirsten Carlson

Her quest to communicate the beauty and wonder of nature has thus far resulted in the publication of three picture books, one activity book and most recently a feature in a children’s magazine about her project in Antarctica. Kirsten blends her skills as scientist, artist, designer, photographer, illustrator and writer to create her stories. Her presentation will reveal the dreams, goals, milestones and challenges she’s faced—tips useful for anyone pursuing a children’s literature career. She and her husband, two cats, and two dogs live on the island of Oahu in Kaiula, Hawaii. Visit Kirsten’s website:
